If you suspect that there is fraudulent activity on your account, it is important to act quickly.
Contact Orlando Credit Union immediately if you suspect fraud or believe your account has been compromised. We can help you determine what is the best action to ensure your accounts remain safe including stopping a payment, disputing a transaction, closing your credit or debit card, or closing your account.
Trying to reach us after hours? Even though the credit union contact center is closed, you can still report your debit or credit card lost or stolen 24/7 by calling 407.835.3500 amd stopping a payment within online or mobile banking.
Additional actions to take:
Contact the merchant. If you do not recognize a debit or credit card transaction, contact the merchant to begin the process of disputing the charge. In some cases, you may find that the charge is legitimate — such as a recurring transaction or subscription that you forgot about, a charge made by a family member or even a merchant name that is different from what you expect.
File a fraud or police report. Depending on the severity or amount of the charges, you may choose to file a fraud report with your local police department. If you believe that your identity was stolen, you can file an Identity Theft Report with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
Monitor your accounts and credit closely. Be sure to check your credit report regularly. Federal law allows you to request your credit report every 12 months at no charge from each credit reporting agency by going to AnnualCreditReport.com. If you suspect that your identity has been stolen, you may want to place a credit freeze with the credit bureaus. This will block most companies from accessing your credit report, making it difficult for fraudsters to open accounts in your name. You can still check your own credit report. Please note: Credit bureaus will still update reports during the credit freeze.
