Credit unions use member numbers to identify an overall membership relationship. It is possible for people to have more than one member number if they choose to group accounts or have different joint owners.

Underneath the member number, there may be several accounts, including share accounts (deposit accounts) and loan accounts. Each of these is identified by a 2-digit number which is the share ID or Loan ID, which can be found in online banking or your eStatements.

In order to identify a specific account number for purposes of setting up automated deposits or payments, the credit union uses a 13-digit number which is comprised of both the member number and share or loan ID. Please refer to the article about setting up direct deposits or automatic payments for more information on how to determine what the 13 digit account number for a specific deposit or loan account.
